Housing Resources

In the 2023- 2024 school year there were 172 children considered homeless within our school district. These students and their families were living in hotels, motels, doubled up with other families or living in shelters.

The number of individuals living unhoused is on the rise within our community.

We want to be humble learners as we engage with these issues.  These are complex issues that people are struggling with. We are busy listening to others, asking questions, meeting with people and organizations who work in these areas. Conestoga Valley SEEDS  understands that working through housing concerns is an important part of having a healthy, thriving Conestoga Valley community.

We have big dreams and ideas of how we desire to be a bridge to fill in these and other gaps ~ things like turning a hotel or motel into transitional housing, rehabbing single family homes so that they can house several families in an affordable way.  We'd love to partner with landlords in our community!  We want to serve as a liaison between some of our neighbors in need & landlords, as we walk alongside our neighbors in their goals of thriving health.

We are grateful for a partnership with East Lampeter Township as we begin our work as Outreach

Workers in our Unhoused Support Program.

When community members reach out to us we take the time to listen to their story, to learn more about their situation, and to see what resources we can direct to them.  We desire to be a bridge for someone as they take the next steps towards housing stability.  Sometimes we can connect them to one of our Housing Programs.

In this program we are hopeful to be a support to enable our neighbors who have a home, to be able to stay in their home.

In this program we are hopeful to be a support to our neighbors who are currently living unhoused and experiencing homelessness.

Refreshing recreation

We recognize the physical, mental, emotional and social benefits that can come from recreation!  We also recognize that living in transition, in a hotel, creates a large barrier to this benefit.

Because of that, in partnership with Zion Lutheran Church, we created Refreshing Recreation. If this is something you would like to be a part of, reach out to your Conestoga Valley social worker or to Michelle at Michelle@seedscv.com

When we connect with families who are experiencing homelessness, have children and are living in hotels, we like to give a small gift to the children.  Would you consider purchasing items from our Amazon Wishlist to help with this?
